It is summoned in the context of both, the 50^th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution and the 70^th anniversary of the Foundation of the Cuban Workers’ Union Central and taking place as a part of the activities to celebrate these significant dates for the Cuban workers.

Central theme:

“Workers’ role in the work of the Revolution”

Rules:

International Cuban workers, foreign workers and trade union leaders can take part in this competition.

Artistic branches for the competition:

                     Literature: Poetry (till 2 sheets)

                                         Story (till 7 sheets)

                                         Testimony (till 20 sheets)

                     Visual Arts: Pictures, Posters, Video (in digital format)

                     Music: Songs (till 3 minutes of length)

Three works will be awarded in each gender for Cuban workers and one work in each gender for foreign workers.

Cuban winners will receive a cash prize:

1^st place: $ 700.00 CUP

2^nd place: $ 500.00 CUP

3^rd place: $ 300.00 CUP

Foreign winners will be invited to attend 1^st May activities in 2009 and the CTC will cover their expenses in Cuba.

Prizes will be awarded in all cases.

The panel may give as many mentions as it considers.

Works will be shown or listened to in the venues where activities for this Special Journey will take place and could be published by the CTC in 2009.

Closing date for works: By January 15^th, 2009.

Awarding date: May 2^nd, 2009 in City of Havana, Cuba.
