Havana, Jun 16 (AIN) Cuban vice president Carlos Lage
Davila delivered a personal letter from Cuba's President Fidel
Castro to His Highness Sheik Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani in the
Capital Doha, where he also met with Algerian President
Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
Lage Davila is heading the Cuban
delegation to the 2nd South Summit of the Group of 77 plus China,
which winds up Thursday in Qatar.
During the summit's first
day of high-level sessions the Cuban top government official met
with Emir of the Arab nation on issues related to the summit and
underscored the excellent organization and outcomes of the
meeting, which gathered the heads of state and government of the
South countries, which represent the vast majority of all nations of
the world.
Meanwhile, during a meeting with Algerian
President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Lage extended a greeting message
from the Cuban president. The Algerian head of state was interested
in hearing from Fidel Castro, the Cuban situation and other issues
related to Latin America. Abdelaziz Bouteflika also addressed the
Israel-Palestine conflict, the Middle East situation and the UN
Reform.
Carlos Lage is heading an official delegation to the
South Summit, which includews Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque;
Marta Lomas, minister for Foreign Investment and Economic
