·         Refurbishing and modernization of existing distilleries with capacities from 500 to 800 Hl/day.

·         New distillery with a 800 Hl/ day capacity for the production of fine and extra-fine alcohol destined to exports.

·         Expansion and modernization of existing facilities for the production of rum and other alcoholic beverages.

·         Acquisition and construction of a glucose plant from refined sugar using modern technologies (chromatographic separation and ionic exchange) with a capacity of 5000-7000 MT/year to be used in Sorbitol production.

·         Projects of power cogeneration:

1.       Construction of a new 25-50 MW thermal power plant, by eliminating the sugar mill's existing power block and building an independent power block with highly efficient operation parameters. This unit would receive from the sugar mill all the bagasse and would give in return low-pressure steam (extraction) and electricity. Most of the generated electricity would be commercialized through the national grid.

2.       New 5-10 MW turbo generator. The surplus steam is intended to be used in order to generate electricity by means of installing a new condensation generator. This would allow to reduce 25-40% of electricity consumption compared to current levels, as well as to commercialize the electricity surplus production to the national grid or any other specific territorial consumer.

During the no-harvest period, this thermal power unit could use as fuel bagasse stored from neighboring sugar mills. sugar cane harvesting wastes or any other fossil fuel.

·                     The existence of several institutions attached to the Ministry of the Sugar Industry that render industrial and agricultural services applicable to production processes as well as to projects and technical assistance, offers other opportunities linked to the electro-mechanic and metalworking industry, construction and installation, technical services and food production.
