Cuba deputy PM arrives in Doha.

 

CUBAN Deputy Premier Jose Fernandez arrived in Doha yesterday on a three-day official visit.

 He was welcomed at the airport by Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry HE Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah and Cuban Ambassador Jose Enriquez.

 In a statement on arrival, the Cuban deputy premier said the purpose of his visit was to consolidate relations of co-operation between the two countries and discuss issues of mutual concern as well as co-ordination of stances at international conferences and forums.

 He added: “We will discuss means of co-operation between Qatar and Cuba in various domains, especially matters related to their Olympic committees.” – QNA

Emir Holds Talks With Cuban Deputy PM: HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani received at Al-Wajbah Palace yesterday visiting Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Jose Fernandez.

 They discussed ways to enhance bilateral ties and other matters of mutual interest. The meeting was attended by HE the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah and Cuba's Ambassador Enrique Enriquez.

Emir Holds Talks With Cuban Deputy PM.
 

Havana, Jan 19 (AIN)  A delegation led by Cuban Vice President Jose Ramon Fernandez held private talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani, during a recent visit to the Persian Gulf nation.

At the meeting, held in the capital Doha, both parties addressed aspects related to bilateral relations between Qatar and Cuba, as well as ways to further expand such links, Granma newspaper reported Wednesday.

The Qatari leader enquired about the health of Cuban President Fidel Castro after his recent accidental fall and sent him his warmest greetings. Thanking him the Cuban VP repeated an invitation for the Qatari leader to visit the island.

The Cuban delegation also met the second vice-president of Qatar's Council of Ministers, Abdullah bin Hamad al Attiyah, who was interested in the recent developments in Cuba, especially the current production of oil and opportunities for cooperation in that field.

The Cuban delegation was welcomed at Doha´s International Airport by Bin Hamad al Attiyah, who is also Energy and Industry minister and president of the Qatar Petroleum Company along with the Cuban ambassador to Qatar, Enrique Enriquez Rodriguez.
