Athens, May 23 (Prensa Latina) The World Trade Union Federation said on Wednesday that the United States and its allies are unleashing a dirty war against Cuba within the framework of several international organizations.

   A WTUF communiqué‚ signed by its secretary general, George Mavrikos, was sent to the International Labor Organization asking that body to defend Cuba against the unfair accusations submitted to the ILO Committee on the Application of Standards.

   Cuba is one of the countries that most ILO conventions has signed, and has complied with all its laws, the document notes.

   The WTUF added that honest and progressive peoples know about the efforts made by all US administration to overthrow the Cuban revolution, assassinate President Fidel Castro and maintain the strong blockade of the Caribbean island.

   Suffering from constant persecution before 1959, the Confederation of Cuban Workers is today a basic movement for the nation's public and social life, noted the WTUF.
